What does Intuition have to do with wellness?

What does intuition have to do with wellness.
What does intuition have to do with wellness.

I believe our intuition is the key to true wellness. Intuition is our own person internal guide. All living creatures possess this ability. Ways to adapt and change in an ever-changing environment. I believe following intuition is important in all aspects of healthcare, life and wellness. Individuals, doctors, nurses and any type of practitioner should be utilizing this innate sense. No two humans are the same. They could have the same diagnosis and other similarities, but what that individual need resides within the individual. We should be reacting and seeing the individual. We could have guidelines for practice but must be allowed to go outside any formula. Individuals should do the same with their personal wellness and life journeys. I now believe answers lies within.

The amount of information we take in daily is staggering. Information about diet, exercises and different practices, it could be overwhelming. If a person is a state of dis-ease it could be exhausting trying to determine what route to take. You could read varying opinions about the same thing and not know how to sort out the truth. I know I felt overwhelmed when trying to figure out what direction I should take when facing Lyme disease. I started to feel unsafe and like I had to try and protect myself from something out there and being hurt further. This is not a good place to be in, because it restricts what you see. You approach things from a defensive point of view and might see the whole picture. Eventually I started listening from a deeper place, because there was no other choice. I would head in a direction I felt drawn, even when the mind was not on board and saying things like " How is this going to help?" I began to realize how my body's energy responded was a more accurate gauge, rather than what my mind was saying. Our minds interrupt through our conditioning and life's experiences. This could be a distorted view. Our intuition guides from a pure place. What I would notice is how did the energy of my body react to the prospect? Did my muscles relax, did part of me respond to the idea positively, even at times when I did not understand how it could help.

During this period, I started to become interested in ancient eastern medicine practices. In these systems the body is viewed on a deeper level. Mind, body and spirit are considered. Humans are seen as connected to nature and other humans. This is not a connection at the egoic singular level, but something deeper. A life force energy that inhabits all living things. When something within the individual is within dis-ease it is because something within the individual has blocked the flow of this life force energy. This energy is the energy of the here and now. When we hold onto emotions, situations and experiences we block the flow. These experiences become stored in our energy systems, and we begin to interrupt the world according to what we are holding onto energetically. I initially had difficulty comprehending this. Humans and nature connected. A living life force energy? Then I started to open to the possibly. I started to notice the nutrients our bodies need all come from the earth, we breath in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide and plants mirror our needs and our pineal glands respond to the earth's day/ night cycle. It releases melatonin into the brain in response to darkness. Wouldn't these things point to an interconnection. Wouldn't there need to be an energetic connection in order for one to respond to the other. If we are part of a larger system, are not most systems programed for balance. Does part of me always seek balance and what blocks me. I now think it is when I lose sight of this innate sense. When other opinions mean more to me than my own. When I stray from my truth. How often do I listen from this deeper place. This change in my thinking was pivotal. It changed what I believed was possible and how I viewed myself. It helped me feel more self impowered and not at the mercy of forces outside myself. I realized healing was possible if I did something different. Change is always possible.

I realized we are never alone in our struggles. We always have guidance from within. I realized a lot my discomfort came from looking for guidance from the world and others. Others might have something valuable to share, but the discernment must come from within the individual. Within me. The individual is the best person to gauge what is right for them. Where are you drawn?

This is what propelled me to start Inner Lotus Wellness LLC. All practices /workshops are meant to assist the individual with relaxation and mindfulness, so they can get in touch with their own internal guidance. Create a space where people can just be without pressure. I remember seeing an interview with Steven Spielberg and he said the hardest to thing to listen to is your intuition. It comes in a whisper, not a shout. I believe this is true. We must quiet the chatter from the outside world and listen. Something within us knows the way. We just have to learn to listen. #intuition#wellness#mind/bodyspirit#health#mindfulness
